Forde drops to League Two on loan
Portsmouth have replaced one former League of Ireland goalkeeper with another as the League Two outfit have brought in Ireland cap David Forde.
The Galway native has a year left on his contract with Millwall but he was frustrated by the lack of opportunties last season, and losing his place to Jordan Archer also cost Forde a place in Ireland's Euro 2016 squad.
But now, Pompey boss Paul Cook has done a deal with the Lions to sign Forde on a season-long loan deal. Forde replaces ex-Bohemians keeper Brian Murphy, who was released at the end of last season and is now weighing up offers to move home. Playing in League Two will make it difficult for Forde to keep his Ireland place but he hopes that first-team football will help.
