'Delighted' Rogers signs Dundalk deal
Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers has signed a new contract after they fended off interest from Shamrock Rovers to keep hold of their first choice netminder.
The Meathman is staying on for a third year with Stephen Kenny's side but his immediate priority is next week's Europa League date with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
"It's great to get it done, I'm delighted to continue my career with Dundalk. I wanted to stay so to get things sorted is great," said Rogers. "It has been terrific at the club. The first year we won the double and then to retain the league title this season was brilliant. The European achievements have been great but we are hoping there is more to come.
"The (Europa League) group stage as well they have all been big matches but when you think of what is at stake next week - to go through to the last 32 of the Europa League it's a fantastic opportunity."
