Deal for Daryl
MICK McCarthy has shown his faith in Ireland international Daryl Murphy by handing him a new two-year contract at Ipswich Town, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.
The Tractor Boys have been busy in recent days as McCarthy signed a three-year contract extension as manager while Stephen Hunt also agreed a new one-year deal.
Murphy had 12 months left on his contract with the club, but the Waterford man has now signed up for another two years.
"I'm really enjoying my football here so I'm obviously delighted to have signed a new contract," said Murphy. "I've said before, Ipswich Town feels like home for me - both on and off the pitch. We are making progress as a football club and the challenge now is to continue that."
