Crumlin and Tolka shoot for Inter glory

For the first time ever, the FAI Inter Cup takes place on the biggest stage of all when Crumlin United take on Tolka Rovers at the Aviva Stadium.

For Crumlin, this is their third Intermediate final, having won their previous two, while Tolka Rovers make their debut in this final.

Crumlin's started with wins over TEK United and Celbridge Town and that was followed by victory over Ballymun United.

Cobh Wanderers fell in a seven-goal thriller before Crumlin ended Avondale's four-year reign. An Alan McGreal hat-trick was half of the six goals Crumlin hit against Firhouse Clover in the semi.

Tolka kicked off with a 4-3 win over St John Bosco. UCD (4-0), Dunboyne (6-1) and Casement Celtic (8-2) were all dismissed in clinical style, while St Mochtas frustrated Rovers in a tense semi-final.

On the injury front, Ray Whelehan is a long term casualty while Wayne Byrne is struggling. Adam Foley and Jon Meleady are expected to be available. For Crumlin, despite a few late season niggles only Paddy Brophy is ruled out for Martin Loughran's side.
