Ireland concern as Robbie misses out again

CONCERN is mounting over the fitness of Ireland captain Robbie Keane ahead of next month's Euro 2016 qualifier wit h Poland after he was forced to sit out yet another game with his club last night, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

LA Galaxy took on Orlando City in the MLS but while Sean St Ledger starred for Orlando in a 4-0 win, his second start in a week after a spell out in the cold, Keane (right) was not even in the match-day squad.

Keane has now missed his club's last seven games as he struggles to overcome a groin injury and his absence is felt as Bruce Arena's side have gone five games without a win.

Keane still has over three weeks to prove his fitness for the key date with Scotland.

But his ongoing injury problems are now a concern for Martin O'Neill, and the Ireland boss hopes to see Keane back in action soon as Galaxy have three more games to play before Keane heads off on international duty.

Orlando boss Adrian Heath sang the praises of St Ledger after the win yesterday: "I thought St. Ledger and Seb Hines were excellent".
