Clubs keeping tabs on Toner

A NUMBER of Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Irish youngster Kevin Toner if he is unable to agree terms on a new deal with Aston Villa.

Toner, who was in action for the Irish U19s last month as they missed out on a place at the European Championship finals, is out of contract with Villa at the end of this season.

Yet to make his first-team debut at Villa Park, Toner is rated by the club but so far he has not been able to agree on a new deal and rivals clubs are monitoring his situation.

Stoke City, Leicester City, and Newcastle United have been linked with Toner while Premier League hopefuls Norwich City are also aware of the Meath native, who joined Villa from Home Farm.
