Carroll on Bournemouth's radar

BOURNEMOUTH are considering a bid for St Patrick's Athletic man Jake Carroll, while the Cherries' League One rivals Yeovil Town are about to offer Shelbourne midfielder Kevin Dawson a short-term deal.

It's understood that Carroll, who impressed in the Saints' side last season, has been on trial with Bournemouth this week and manager Eddie Howe will decide in the next 24 hours whether to make a formal approach for the player.

As the player is under contract with the Saints, Bournemouth would have to pay a fee to Pats for the Dubliner, and the sale of Carroll as well as the revenue from the transfer fee would allow boss Liam Buckley to make further additions to his squad for the 2013 season.

Meanwhile, fellow Dubliner Dawson could join Paddy Madden at Yeovil. A free agent as he's out of contract with Shels, Dawson has done well on trial and the club want to offer him a six-month deal.
