Bluebell survive Brandywell trip

BLUEBELL UNITED came up with one of the best results of their FAI Cup career as they held Derry City to a 0-0 draw in the Brandywell last night.

Deemed a home game for Bluebell even though the game was played in Derry, Bluebell had problems before kick-off as their team coach broke down en route to Derry and the Dublin outfit needed assistance to make it the rest of the way up the N2.

But Bluebell showed no signs of fatigue as they took the game to Derry from the off, Shane Stritch and Tony Griffiths going close.

Bluebell's Peter Sherlock won the man of the match award, with Bluebell deserving their draw with a replay in the same venue next Tuesday.
