Bluebell bow out to Derry in Cup replay
DERRY CITY made sure of a place in the last eight of the FAI Cup at the expense of a brave Bluebell United with a 2-1 win last night.
Shane Stritch and Andrew Cleary had chances for Bluebell early on but Northern Ireland international Rory Patterson beat United keeper Andy McNulty in the 36th minute after good approach work by current U21 cap Barry McNamee to give the home side a badly-needed 1-0 lead.
Derry added a second goal from McNamee on 83 minutes but the closing stages were anxious as Peter Sherlock scored for Bluebell in injury time.

Following offers from a number of clubs, Villa have agreed to let former U21 cap Stevens join the Magpies on loan.
COX FIGHTING FIT FOR FOREST
SIMON COX hopes to prove his fitness in the League Cup tonight.
The Ireland international has been sidelined by an ankle injury but was given a boost this week when Giovanni Trapattoni named him in the 29-man provisional squad for the World Cup games next month and the player is eager to line out for Forest against Millwall tomorrow.
"Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to play against Millwall and show the manager that I'm back and ready," he said.
