Blow for Caulfield as skipper Dunleavy out for four months
Cork City's Premier Division title hopes have been dealt a blow with the news that club captain John Dunleavy will miss four months of the season after suffering a meniscal knee injury in the early stages of last Friday's defeat to Dundalk.
Dunleavy was seen by a specialist this week and it has been deemed necessary for the player to undergo surgery in the coming days.
Immediately following the surgery, the defender will begin a rehabilitation programme.
Commenting on the news, manager John Caulfield said: "It is obviously extremely disappointing for Johnny and for us to lose him for the next few months."
