Blackett happy to improve at Celtic
New Celtic signing Tyler Blackett is looking forward to testing himself in Scottish football following his move from Manchester United.
The England Under-21 international joined Ronny Deila's side on a season-long loan on Saturday. The 21-year-old, who had previous loan spells at Blackpool and Birmingham revealed Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal had approved the move north where Blackett expects to be tested for his toughness as well as his talent.
Speaking at Celtic's Lennoxtown training complex, he said: "I spoke to him (Van Gaal) yesterday and he said it would be good for me, good experience to get the games which I need which I couldn't get at United right now. To come here and play at this level is always going to be good for my development.
Celtic are closing in on the signing of Ryan Christie and Dinamo Zagreb defender Jozo Simunovic.
Inverness have given the Scotland Under-21 international permission to speak to the Scottish champions who, Press Association Sport understands, have agreed a fee for the Croatian centre-back Simunovic with discussions continuing.
Simunovic, 21, has eight caps for Croatia's Under-21 side and could be regarded as a replacement for Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, who has been heavily linked with Southampton with the fee reported to be as much as £11million.
