Bayern suffer Rostov setback
Bayern Munich's hopes of finishing top of their Champions League group were ended after they were stunned 3-2 at Russian side Rostov who recorded their first ever win in the competition.
The German champions had already qualified for the last 16, but their chances of topping Group D were ended when table-toppers Atletico Madrid beat PSV Eindhoven 2-0 with second half goals from Kevin Gameiro and Antoine Griezmann.
Rostov fell behind when Douglas Costa swept home after 35 minutes, but an excellent finish from livewire forward Sardar Azmoun levelled and Dmitri Poloz's penalty put the hosts ahead. Bayern equalised when Juan Bernat drove the ball into the roof of the net, but Christian Noboa curled in a precise free kick to earn Rostov a famous victory.
Meanwhile, Napoli top Group B on goal difference after their 0-0 draw at home to Dynamo Kiev, while Benfica's 3-3 draw away to Besiktas puts them level on points with the Italians. Besiktas lie a point behind in third with one more round of fixtures to go.
In Group A, Ludogorets drew 0-0 with Basel.
