Adidas end association with 'Pool

ADIDAS will not be renewing their sponsorship deal with Liverpool - because their on-field performances are not good enough.

Liverpool replaced Adidas with a club record, six-year, £25m contract with Warrior Sports, a subsidiary of New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc.

The agreement, Warrior's first major soccer contract, begins next season and is worth almost double the agreement with Adidas.

Failure to secure Champions League qualification and a widening gap between the Anfield club and the top of the league were the reasons Adidas gave for pulling out.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have decided to proceed with their original, nine-year-old stadium plans for Stanley Park once they have secured the finance to start building.

The 60,000 seater stadium would cost in the region of £300million to construct.
