COLÁISTE Cois Life captured the Leinster Girls Senior League Division 2 title yesterday to cap a promising introduction to schools soccer.

The mixed Irish-speaking secondary school from Lucan have traditionally not had soccer teams, but their senior group changed that four years ago.

Since than they’ve been beaten in a Division One Under-15 final, before claiming their first-ever title in the Under-17 Division Two section.

Yesterday at Peamount United they produced a superb first-half display to see off St Raphaela’s Secondary School from Stillorgan.

Ireland underage international Naima Chemaou opened the scoring from Alex NÍ Chléirigh’s cross, before the latter set-up Siobháin Ní Scolaí for number two.
