YESTERDAY'S Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Hurling and Camogie Finals in Parnell Park served up another fantastic mix of colour and noise in the stands and excitement on the fields.

The first game down for decision saw Scoil Naithi turn in a terrific display against Gaelscoil Inse Chóir in the Corn Olly Quinlan. With Ballinteer captain, Jane Níc an Tuile, showing plenty of purpose going forward, her team threw everything at their opponents in the first half.

And they were duly rewarded for their pressure when Doireann Ní Mhaoileannaigh cut in from the dead ball line before shooting to the net. And Nic an Tuile and Ní Mhaoileannaigh added two more goals to leave their team up by nine points at half-time.

Ní Mhaoileannaigh continued her heroics after the break and like any great forward proved devastating on the edge of the square. Two more goals followed from the corner-forward while Nic an Tuile also hit 1-1 in the second half as Ballinteer won 6-1 to 0-0.

IF there was an award given for best ensemble cast in this star-studded extravaganza, then the fullback line for Scoil Choilm would be up right up there for the gong.

Unfortunately they were up against an inspired Gaelscoil Thaobh na Coille team from Kilternan in what was arguably the stand out game from yesterday.

The Corn Uí Néil was a fantastic affair with Gerard de Noyer setting the ball rolling for Crumlin with a low shot past the 'keeper. And although Naoise Ó Caoilte was to reply with a goal at the other end, points from play from De Noyer and Matthew Rankin followed by a late first half goal from Aaron Robinson was to leave Scoil Choilm up by 0-10 to 0-3 at the break.

Kilternan upped their efforts after the break with Oisín Mac Maolain registering an early goal. But Kilternan had their work cut out against Leon Jones, Aaron Russell and Crumlin captain, Lee Coleman, who defended superbly as a unit to keep their opponents out.

Kilternan at this stage needed answers and it came in the form of their captain, Adam O'Neill who taking his cue from long distance strike specialist Jonny McCaffrey, sent over a free and then a great score from play to leave just a point between the teams. And with the bit firmly between the teeth, Kilternan finished off the job with O'Neill's long-range accuracy coupled with two great goals from Daniel Mac Eoin helping their team to a 19-10 win.

A GOOD start to the day is important and Scoil Mobhi achieved just that in the Corn Mhic Phiarais.

It took them a while to break down a resolute Gaelscoil Uí Fhiaic team from Celbridge. Nonetheless Scoil Mobhi bided their time with Luke Ó Gamhna, Gavan Ó Duinn, Maitiu Ó Coileain and Shane Baroid all picking off scorers to open up a 0-6 to 0-0 lead.

And Baroid after landing a '45' then hit another great score straight off the puck-out to stretch his team's lead to eight points at half-time.

And with Scoil Mobhi captain, Conor MacAogain, keeping it steady at the back, the Glasnevin boys consolidated their position before Paul Ó Meiscil sent over a deserved score for Celbridge near the end.

NIALL O'CALLAGHAN brought the bread home for SFX Coolmine as they captured the Corn Johnson Mooney and O'Brien with a 3-7 to 1-6 win over St Patrick's of Drumcondra.

St Pat's had edged in front early on courtesy of points from Conor Gray and Seán Murphy only for St Francis Xavier to strike with two opportunist goals from Darragh McCaffrey and Killian Healy.

That helped the Dublin 15 side into a 2-4 to 0-2 lead at the break and further scores from O'Callaghan and midfielder, Paul Prunty, before Conor Purcell fired home a cracking shot from the edge of the square to all but put the game beyond St Pat's.

But the Drumcondra boys finished strongly with Peter Wade netting in between scores from Seán Ryan with John Pringle also scoring.

THE concluding game saw Scoil San Treasa triumph in the Corn Nuiri with the early goals from Hannah Moran and Elizabeth McGee sending the Mount Merrion girls on their way to victory over Scoil an tSeachtar Laoch. Nonetheless special mention goes to Scoil an tSeachtar Laoch defender, Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagain, who hurled with great composure. But it was always a tough ask to keep out a Scoil San Treasa team which had a wealth of scorers in Johanne Tighe, Molly Sheridan, Isolt Riordan and Sophie Carey.
