Wales' Davies to miss RWC
Wales have suffered a major injury blow with the loss of centre Jonathan Davies from their 2015 World Cup campaign. Davies ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee playing for Clermont Auvergne against Montpellier.
The Welsh Rugby Union said today that 27-year-old Davies will undergo surgery and is likely to be sidelined for six to seven months.
Davies, who has won 48 caps, would have been an integral part of Wales Warren Gatland's World Cup squad. Davies' midfield partnership with Jamie Roberts has proved to be a bedrock of Wales' successes.
