Munster host old rivals The Ospreys in the second PRO12 League semi-final at Thomond Park tomorrow

Leinster coach Matt O'Connor was shown the door after one season with silverware and a second without.

Munster last raised a trophy in 2011 when Tony McGahan was in charge. Rob Penney has been and gone since then. Now, the home-grown hero Anthony Foley has his hands on the steering wheel in his first season.

"You're never fully there after one season," said Foley.

The transition phase may be over for many of Munster's players. The same cannot be said for the coaches.

"The coaches are a year wiser, talking to the guys who are coming in first time to the professional game (as coaches), Jerry (Flannery), Mick (O'Driscoll) and Brian (Walsh)."

It is a learning process in an environment where the players look to the head coach for most of the answers.

"Obviously, you make mistakes and there's errors along the way, but it's how you react and how you manage them.

"We've done that well. We've a home semi-final, but there's nothing guaranteed.

"We know that from past experience and we just want to go out at Thomond Park and give a good account of ourselves."

This is not, nor ever has been, Foley's way. He will settle for nothing less than victory tomorrow.

VERDICT: Munster
