Memory of Oliver will live on with bust
Tullamore Rugby club have ensured that the memory of the late Oliver McGlinchey will not be forgotten with the unveiling of a bronze bust last Saturday evening by club president Ray Farrell.
His daughter Catherine Fenning and his two sons Joe and Gerry together with their families (pictured) were the main guests on the evening. His lifetime friend Dermot Kilroy was also present while there were also representatives from neighbouring clubs, Edenderry, Mullingar, Birr and Roscrea.
Club president Ray Farrell and Oliver's friend, protégé and fellow trustee Paul Wrafter spoke of the great man. The sculptor Michael C Keane, working from photographs, did a terrific job on the likeness to Oliver.
A large crowd of friends enjoyed the rest of the evening either watching Leinster in the Heineken Cup and catching up on old stories.
