Lam looks to turn leaders Scarlet with away win

Connacht coach Pat Lam is in the middle of a tough series of PRO12 League matches.

At the moment, they don't come any more testing than a trip to the leaders Scarlets.

He makes one change from the selection which fell to Leinster.

It comes in the aggressive form of second row Ultan Dillane, fresh from the confidence boost of being included in his first Irish squad out in Carton House last Sunday.

Lam has been able to look back at what happened against Ulster and Leinster and correct the mistakes that cost them dearly.

"There are certain aspects of our game that we are looking to improve from last week," he said.

"With a solid week's training under our belt, we go with confidence knowing that if we add clinical execution to the work ethic already shown, we'll have every chance of getting the points on offer."

Connacht will be at their strongest once the injuries are taken into account, particularly to the likes of Robbie Henshaw and Denis Buckley.

The Welsh can call on the outstanding talent of backs Regan King and DTH van der Merwe as well as Wales tight-head Samson Lee.

"We've played 11 games and we're halfway through the season. We've put a lot of good things in place," said their backs coach Stephen Jones.

"From our aspect, we'll make sure our house is in order to get back to winning ways, that's our goal.

"They're a very good side. Statistically, they're very good.

"They want to play open expansive rugby."

This could be a high-scoring shoot-out with both clubs taking some sort of reward away from it.

Scarlets: M Collins; S Evans, R King, H Parkes, DTH van der Merwe; A Thomas, A Davies; R Evans, K Owens (capt), S Lee, T Price, L Rawlins, A Shingler, J Barclay, M Allen.
