Lam goes in search of first win

Coach Pat Lam caught a lucky break when a thunderstorm washed away Zebre's 22-10 lead in Italy last week to prevent a third straight humiliation.

It is about time the holders showed the mettle of champions to go with a rejuvenation of the accuracy of their side-to-side running and less-is-more kicking game.

There is no better place to do it than on the road to another club which has struggled more than their roster would suggest.

The Scarlets are moored in tenth place, one ahead of Connacht with both of them yet to register even a losing bonus point.

They have also been able to muster just two tries each from the opening three rounds, although Connacht have leaked ten against Scarlet's six.

The exits of Robbie Henshaw, AJ McGinty, Aly Muldowney and Rodney Ah You leaves Bundee Aki to carry even more of the burden of expectation.

If you stop Aki, you go a long way towards stopping Connacht. There has to be another way.
