Ian Madigan could be Ireland's secret weapon in French battle
Ian Madigan believes Joe Schmidt sees his back-up men as a "weapon" that could make all the difference for Ireland.
The out-half remained an unused replacement against Italy for the first time in his test career.
"I've no doubt that Joe has full faith in his bench," he said, ahead of the Pool D decider at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.
The French demand instant respect even though they have not beaten Ireland since August 2011, playing for two draws and two defeats.
"There's definitely a feel that everything's cranked up this week," felt Madigan.
"Even breakfast this morning, it was from eight until half nine, but the majority of the boys were in the breakfast room at 8am. The focus is rising all the time."
Concerns over Jared Payne have abated as he is set to return to full training today following injury (bruised foot).
Rob Kearney will also train fully after recovering from a glute injury. The side to play France will be named on Friday afternoon.
