The influx of foreign ideas through coach Vern Cotter and players with a winning mentality like Hines and Canadian international Jamie Cudmore have altered their outlook.
"When Vern Cotter came here, he brought a mentality that it didn't matter whether we were home or away. He just wanted to win every game," Hines (right) warned.
"It wasn't compulsory to win at home and an option to win away. It was compulsory to win at all times and at all venues.
"It takes time to change an attitude which has been hanging in the air for a long time. It has definitely changed. Definitely!
"I won the Heineken Cup once with Leinster. I know what an achievement it is, how special it is.
"I want to relive it with Clermont," he said.
