Connacht reject Eddie

FORMER Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan will not be interviewed as a possible replacement for Eric Elwood at Connacht.

Former Ospreys coach Sean Holley and ex-Auckland Blues boss Pat Lam are the leading contenders for the post, along with Connacht assistant boss Dan McFarland and backs coach Billy Millard.

Meanwhile, Munster have received a boost with the news that back-rowers Sean Dougall and Niall Ronan look set for a return and Simon Zebo should get the all-clear for the Saracens game at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Saints' Hartley is cited

England forward Dylan Hartley has been cited for alleged foul play during Northampton's Heineken Cup defeat against Ulster on Friday night.

The Saints skipper has been reported by match commissioner Jean-Claude Legendre for striking Ulster hooker Rory Best with his arm. IRB sanctions for striking with the fist or arm range from a two-week ban to a maximum 52 weeks.

The Beatles started a revolution back in the USSR

If ever a band has been well served by the literary world it's The Beatles. Practically every aspect of that revolutionary body of work has been dealt with in book form... or so one would have thought. From Hunter Davies' The Beatles, through Philip Norman's Shout, Bob Spitz's humongously detailed history and Ian McDonald's brilliant Revolution in the Head, which offered a musical and contextual analysis of every song they ever recorded, surely there's nothing left of interest to diehard fans of the Fabs. Well, think again.
