Cian Healy is a doubt for the World Cup
Cian Healy's World Cup is in doubt
The man often described as the best loose-head in the world has taken an injection to his neck in order to meet with a specialist early next week, at the latest, to decide whether he will require surgery.
"He's in the hands of the medics at the moment so we will have to wait and see," said Leinster coach Matt O'Connor.
"It's an old injury that he's been managing through.
"The medical decision was to get it repaired and try and do that as quickly as possible for what's around the corner obviously.
"It was just off the back of the tights games and the Six Nations schedule and everything that he has gone through the past couple of months."
There is great concern that Ireland's explosive prop will have to have surgery on his neck and be sidelined long-term for a period of rehabilitation.
