rory: i'm ready
Only matter of time for McIlroy to win Grand Slam says Tiger
RORY McIlroy cannot wait to take on Augusta and attempt to complete a career Grand Slam of Majors by winning the Masters.
"I said in the middle of last week, if Augusta was to start tomorrow, I'd be okay. I'm ready,' he said.
"I think that's a good indication of where I am with my game right now. I've been ready for this thing to start for a week."
The return of Tiger Woods to competitive action after two months on the sidelines has taken some of the spotlight off McIlroy, who practiced in private for the last few weeks to avoid the hype building around him.
"The last two weeks have been great. I've just practised at home in Florida and made another trip up here a couple of Fridays ago," he said.
"I just really felt like spending a couple of weeks away from this (media attention). I just wanted to get away from it all, and I feel like it's been a good thing."
Woods preceded McIlroy at the media centre in Augusta National and agreed that it is only a matter of time before golf's poster boy completed the four-Major slam.
"He has that opportunity and he's going to have that opportunity for decades to come. But I'm sure he'll have many green jackets in his closet before it's all said and done," said Woods.
