Raheny rocks to support a worthy cause
THERE'S nothing nicer than a stroll through St Anne's Park in the sunshine.
And the Raheny GAA club went the extra mile to honour the legacy of Clare Clarke.
The village community came together to support the children's charity Climb4Clare.
The day began with a 3k walk from the club, which then staged a fun-filled programme that had something for everybody in the audience.
Activities included a Poc Fada, Kick Fada, Tug of War, Sack Race, Three-Legged Race, Bibs and Balloon Race, Socks on Washing Line, Plank and Rope, Cup Games, Rings over Cones and an art table.
There was also a cake sale, tuck shop, raffle, wheel of fortune, book sale, coffee dock, face painting and a barbecue.
There was a traditional music session with John O'Brien, Brian Garvin, Conal Earley, Gary O'Meara and the Stack sisters.
The Ferry Cowboys then took to the stage. And they brought the house down.
Over €1,000 was raised, and Cian Burgess thanked all the many volunteers and sponsors who made the event possible.
