'Point a big boost for us' says Republic of Ireland Tiger David Meyler
David Meyler reckons that a point in midweek against Sunderland will boost the club in their battle to say out of the drop zone, says AIDAN FITZMAURICE.
With no Premier League date this weekend the Tigers are away to Leicester in their next game and Cork native Meyler feels that the draw from the controversial Sunderland game will help confidence.
"It's another point on the board so we'll take that and move on," said Meyler.
"Obviously we wanted to win the game against Sunderland and we're disappointed that we didn't, but it's another point and we need to keep going.
"We know we've got a trip to Leicester coming up a week Saturday and we are all focussing on that now. We're back in training and ready to build on the performance we put in on Tuesday.
"With the chances we had against Sunderland, we probably deserved all three points. Their goalkeeper made a few good saves, whereas on another day we might have taken all of our chances.
"The lads worked hard in the game and we have to build on that and get ready to go again at Leicester," added Meyler.
