Irish Olympic triathlete Aileen Reid (pictured) made a solid start to her season by finishing 24th in the opening round of the World Triathlon Series in Abu Dhabi.
Racing over the sprint distance, Reid got off to a great start on the 750m swim, emerging from the water just 13 seconds behind the leaders. "Plenty to work on," she said afterwards.
Conor Murphy finished 30th in the men's race, and after a solid swim, made the lead pack for the 20km cycle and came home in 54 mins 17 secs after the 5km run.Keane recovered after a poor swim to push the pace on the bike, although his group couldn't quite catch the leaders. On the run, he picked up a few places to finish 37th in 54:34.
