Raikkonen hints at longer Ferrari stay

Kimi Raikkonen has dropped a hint he would like to take up the option in his deal with Ferrari for next season as he is currently revelling in the best atmosphere he has experienced in Formula One.

Raikkonen signed a two-plus-one agreement upon his return to the team at the start of last season, and for a while in 2014 it appeared as if the additional 'one' would be a pipe dream.

But with a revamp of personnel behind the scenes, the arrival of Maurizio Arrivabene as team boss and good friend Sebastian Vettel as team-mate, and in a car he can finally get to grips with, Raikkonen has a smile on his face again.

As to whether Raikkonen and Ferrari continue into 2016, the signs are now very promising compared to just six months ago.

Asked as to the possibility, Raikkonen said: "Time will tell what will happen, but it's up to the team really to decide that."
