Novak Djokovic danced his way into the US Open third round as the Serbian eased past Austria's Andreas Haider-Maurer and then jigged on court with a celebrating fan.

Djokovic revived an old tradition by dancing with Serena Williams at the Wimbledon champions' dinner in July and the world number one was at it again in New York, strutting his stuff in front of a jubilant home crowd.

After easing past Haider-Maurer 6-4 6-1 6-2, Djokovic's post-match interview was interrupted as one fan beckoned him to show some moves while the music blared out around the stadium.

The nine-time grand slam champion seemed happy to oblige as the pair performed a short jig, which ended with Djokovic high-fiving his partner and putting on an 'I love New York' t-shirt.

Djokovic's rhythm with the racket had been just as impressive as he took a brisk 91 minutes to see off Haider-Maurer, who was unable to muster a single break point.

The number one seed will now play Italian Andreas Seppi in round three.
