O'Neill keeps an eye on Arter

Martin O'Neill took another opportunity to spy on the newest recruit to the senior Ireland squad, Harry Arter, last night with the Cherries remaining in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League.

The Ireland boss used his Good Friday to head to Portman Road for the Ipswich-Bournemouth tie. Daryl Murphy started for the home side who took the lead but the Cherries equalised late on through Kenwyne Jones to earn a 1-1 draw

David Forde came out on top in the battle of the Irish keepers at the New Den, Forde's Millwall earning a vital 2-1 win over Stephen Henderson's Charlton.

Millwall are still in the relegation zone but are now a point ahead of Wigan, James McClean's side losing 1-0 to leaders Middlesbrough where ex-Ireland U18 cap Patrick Bamford scored the only goal. Wes Hoolahan started, but was substituted early in the second half, as Norwich City won 1-0 away to Brighton, and the in-form Canaries are now within touching distance of the automatic promotion places.

Brentford are in the playoff places thanks to a 4-1 win away to Fulham, Dubliner Alan Judge on target for the Bees.
