Merrion Fleet put St Olaf's on right road

PERFECT timing for Naomh Olaf ahead of Friday's big Dublin Senior Football Championship clash against St Vincent's.

Merrion Fleet Management have agreed to sponsor the club's senior footballers for the next three years.

"It couldn't have come at a better time," said Olaf's chairman, Anthony Delaney.

The club shop will be selling Merrion Fleet branded jerseys. There will also be car stickers.

"Our membership is up by 30 per cent in the last two years. We field over 40 teams every week and this sponsorship will

be a huge help."

Merrion Fleet Management are Ireland's largest independent fleet management company.

Their HQ is only 50 yards from Olaf's front door. "It's vitally important that we support our local clubs, and Olaf's are the ideal fit," stated company director, David Wilkinson.

DUBLIN and Kerry left Croke Park with the right result.

It was the Cumann na mBunscol awards, sponsored by the Cornmarket Group Financial Services.

Gaelscoil Cluain Dolcain won the Large School accolade, while Glenbeigh NS were the Small School winners.

The day included a tour of the Museum and lunch in Croke Park, plus a meeting with President, Aogan O Fearghail.

Glenbeigh teacher, Mary Jo Curran, knows Croke Park better than most. She has ten All-Ireland Ladies Football Senior Championship medals with the invincible Kerry side.

Cornmarket's Education Officer, Brendan de La Harpe, said:

"It's only fitting that these two schools should be rewarded for their efforts to promote Gaelic games to both boys and girls."

DUBLIN GAA hosted the All-Ireland finals of Scor na nOg in splendid style. Over 2,000 attended the Scor spectacular at Citywest.

"The Scor competitions highlights the best of Irish cultural talent within the ranks of the GAA. And the standard was just top-class," remarked Liam O Culbaird.

"The crowds were up and the television cameras were there."

And so was the President, Aogan O Fearghail.
