Mata’s stay plea to pal de Gea
United want Ramos in swap deal
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has made a desperate plea for his teammate David De Gea to think twice about making a move to Real Madrid.
The former Chelsea man said of his fellow Spanish international: “Lots of people ask me about him. He’s a friend and I want him to be happy. He’s currently one of the best goalkeepers in the world. From a selfish point of view, I would want to have him in my team.”
Despite Mata’s pleas, De Gea is expected to move to the Bernabeu this summer but United are looking for a swap deal, with defender Sergio Ramos the latest Galactico to be mentioned as a make-weight .
United have been constantly linked to suitable replacements, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris, Ajax’s Jasper Cillessen and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak just some of the names being mentioned.
