Jackies keen to maintain Leinster grip

DUBLIN have not lost a TG4 Leinster Senior Championship game in over four years.

It was Meath who beat them in the provincial Championship 2011 semi-final in Portmarnock.

It was a thrilling contest. The Royals had a point to spare at the end of it.

Laois won the Leinster title that season. And now on Sunday, it's Dublin against Laois in the TG4 Leinster Senior Championship semi-final.

The winners will play Westmeath in the Leinster final at Dr Cullen Park on Sunday, July 19.

The Dubs are seeking their fourth successive Leinster crown this summer.

And Sunday's date is a repeat of last year's final where Dublin enjoyed the most comfortable of victories.

This time, Laois will be without the great Tracey Lawlor, one of the finest footballers to have graced the game.

For so long, Tracey was the heart-beat of the team, but now her inter-county boots are under the stairs.

Dublin hit six goals in the victory. Among the goals were Noelle Healy, Carla Rowe and the present captain, Lyndsey Davey, who was the day's top scorer on 2-3.

Dublin will be firm favourites. But Laois will have two matches behind them, a defeat against Westmeath and a victory over the Royals.
