Irish trio get PFA's nod

PFA awards

THREE Irish players have earned the support of their peers with a place on the Championship's team of the season.

Sheffield Wednesday are guaranteed no better than a mid-table finish but Ireland international Keiren Westwood was picked out as the division's top keeper, with a place in goal on the PFA's divisional team of the season.

With 25 league goals for Ipswich Town, Daryl Murphy is the leading scorer in the Championship and the Waterford native was also voted onto the team of the year up front.

And in defence in the PFA team was Richard Keogh, a key figure for a Derby County side who are still in the hunt, like Ipswich, for promotion to the Premier League.
