Irish rugby leaguers to play Belgium at Carlisle Grounds

Carlisle Grounds in Bray, Co Wicklow is the venue for an international rugby league match between Ireland and Belgium on July 12.

This will be the first match ever between the two nations with the Irish team drawn entirely from domestically-based players.

The Belgians are coached by Tony Benson who has strong links with Irish rugby league. Coaching the Irish team is Carl de Chenu.

Two other matches are planned for the squad, many of them getting their first International caps.

Both the other matches are away - in Serbia on August 29 and Malta on September 5.
