THE IRISH U17 women's side now face an anxious wait to see if they can get a place at the European Championship finals this summer.

Dave Connell's outfit drew 0-0 with Hungary in Cork in the final game of their qualifying campaign, leaving the Irish girls unbeaten and with three clean sheets from three games.

But a 2-0 win for England over Holland in Cobh means that England win the group and advance automatically to the finals, in Iceland later this year.

The Irish girls now have to await the conclusion of the other elite qualifying groups to see if they can get to the finals as best runners-up. The finals will be played in Iceland from June 22-July 4th.
