O'Meara's Watchable looks good for Ayr slot

David O'Meara's Curragh winner Watchable heads a strong team for the North Yorkshire trainer in the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup at the confirmation stage for the Ayr showpiece.

The four-year-old bagged a big handicap on Irish Champions Weekend and O'Meara can also call on the likes of Louis The Pious, Out Do and Highland Acclaim.

As expected Muthmir has been taken out by William Haggas, who has his sights set on a Listed race at Ascot on October 4.

At the head of the weights is Jim Goldie's Jack Dexter, as the long wait for a Scottish-trained winner goes on.

All the other leading ante-post fancies such as the Richard Fahey trio of Eastern Impact, Alben Star and Rene Mathis, Richard Hannon's Ninjago and Ger Lyons' Burn The Boats have stood their ground.

Mass Rally, Blaine, former winner Captain Ramius and Barnet Fair are others still engaged. Those who fail to make the cut for the big race have the option of running in the Silver and Bronze Cups.
