Majeed ready to make up for lost time

Majeed can continue to make up for lost time with victory in the 32Red.com Handicap at Kempton.

The five-year-old has clearly not been the most straightforward of inmates for David Simcock as he will be having just his seventh career outing and has a lengthy absence on his record.

Unplaced on his sole juvenile start, Majeed then won one of four starts as a three-year-old before then going on to the sidelines for 17 months when all was obviously not right.

However, he returned in a blaze of glory at Chelmsford in March, overcoming that long lay-off to hold off Zampa Manos by a neck in what appeared to be a competitive enough heat.

Majeed came through late in the day to snatch that prize and the margin of his win means the handicapper could not be too harsh, with Simcock's runner looking eminently capable of defying a 3lb rise.

Anya did not shine on her return to action but is worth another chance in the 32Red On The App Store Handicap.

She had enjoyed a decent campaign in 2014, winning once in six starts, but she failed to cut much ice on her first attempt at Chelmsford last month.

Henry Candy's charge stayed on at just the one pace to be beaten five lengths but she may well have needed the run and should feel the benefit.

Tajathub should go well in the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Stakes after being beaten by the well-regarded Peterhof on his only start last term.

Dreese is worth another chance in Ayr's Farrar McCamley Handicap after failing to sparkle at Ripon earlier this month.

Twice a winner on the all-weather last spring, he turned in a couple of disappointing subsequent efforts before the turn of the year.

Now with Richard Fahey, he sported a first-time eyeshield on his return and the Musley Bank trainer has chosen to keep the headgear.
