Good grounds for Hernandoshideaway to make a winning return to form

Hernandoshideaway can make a winning return from his recent absence in the tiesplanet.com - Ladies Love Guys In Ties Handicap at Pontefract.

Michael Dods’ charge was last seen in May when he chased home the well-regarded Fabricate in a handicap on easy ground at Haydock, beaten just under two lengths at the line.

That was a creditable performance given the winner now boasts a rating just shy of 100.

He had previously won on his maiden bow at Ayr last August, while he finished second to Not Never on his seasonal return in May, subsequently comprehensively turning that bit of form around at Haydock.

Obviously the fact he has been off the track for more than two months is hardly a positive, but Dods appears to have been waiting for conditions to come in his favour and good ground in West Yorkshire should be well within his compass.

Honorina is a close relation of Irish Derby winner Treasure Beach and as a daughter of Sea The Stars, connections will be eager to get an all-important number one next to her name.

She made a fine start when not beaten far by Bahaarah at Doncaster, making late progress which suggests she should be primed for the task in Kempton’s British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.

Up In Lights struck at the first time of asking at Nottingham back in June and can follow up in the 32RedSport.com Handicap.

A half-sister to a number of maidens, she bucked the family trend when outbattling Pyjama Party by a head over an extended mile. The second has since come out and won again so a starting mark of 80 looks reasonably fair for Up In Lights and trainer James Fanshawe has identified a nice opportunity.

Saeed bin Suroor will likely be hoping for further drying of the ground at Brighton ahead of Muqarred’s run in the John Smith’s Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy Stakes. Out of luck in three maiden starts, the three-year-old opened his account with a half-length success at Leicester in April but he has been unable to follow up in a couple of subsequent starts. A return to turf coupled with a marginal drop in the ratings should help his cause.
