Gilgamboa could make an appearance in the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown in December as Enda Bolger's former smart novice embarks upon a second season over fences.

The JP McManus-owned gelding rounded off last term with a Grade One victory in the Ryanair Gold Cup Novice Chase at Fairyhouse, adding to a Grade Two win at Limerick in December.

Bolger said: "He's had a good summer and has done well.

"The ground will dictate where we start off with him. I'd say he'll get an entry in the Durkan and races like that.

"I'd be thinking of going up to three miles, rather than coming back to two with him.

"I'm very pleased with him at the moment and hopefully we can look forward to a good winter with him."
