Closutton welcomes Sheikh to the list of its big owners
WILLIE MULLINS has recently welcomed Sheikh Fahad to his yard as an owner after the influential flat owner delved into National Hunt racing recently.
After claiming that it would be fun to try and have a winner at the Cheltenham Festival of 2015 having watched this year's Festival, Sheikh Fahad went and approved the purchase of three horses with a view to trying to make it to the Cotswolds next year.
Sheikh Fahad continues to be a heavy investor in Flat racing with horses running in his own name and also in the now familiar purple and gold silks of Qatar Racing, while he and his family are big sponsors across the water and also now in Ireland through the Qipco sponsorship.
It is undoubtedly a great boost for the jumping game that Sheikh Fahad has taken such a strong interest.
And it will be interesting to see how the €65,000 son of Milan that will race for Sheikh Fahad and Mullins will fare out.
Sheikh Fahad set a task for three of his bloodstock agents to buy a horse each with a Robin Des Champs filly also going into training in England.
