Heary on a trophy hunt with Sligo

OWEN Heary wants his Sligo Rovers side to make a challenge for all competitions this season, including the EA Sports Cup.

Sligo began their Premier Division campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Cork City on Saturday and tonight the Mayo League travel to the Showgrounds as Rovers aim to make a push for silverware.

"Every trophy we are competing in we will gave the same priority to. We want to win the EA Sports Cup," says Heary, who will rest some players this evening.

"We will need to make a few changes for the game just to freshen things up and give others game time. We will have three games in a week with Drogheda in the league next Friday so it's important that we keep players fresh for that. But the players that we do pick to go out there will be professional and go out and do a job."

Drogheda United boss John McDonnell faces his old side Shelbourne at United Park this evening.
