Galway Chief Admires Dublin Crystal

GALWAY won the All-Ireland senior title last year. It's all about building the bricks.

And their U16 manager, Lorraine Larkin, states that Dublin are on the right road as well.

"Dublin won the All-Ireland U16A Championship two years ago, beating us in the final. So that confirms the quality that's in the county.

"I was impressed with their U16's this year. They are a very strong team. They have some fine players, so Dublin have every right to look to the future with optimism."

Lorraine insists that having the right structures in place is crucial. "We have nice talent coming through in Galway. Hopefully, they'll push on.

"Five of our U16's from last season made our Intermediate team this year. That is what you want.

"Our aim in Galway is to produce players that will progress from our under-age squads to the Inter grade and all the way to senior. That is what we are trying to do.

"And the signs are good in Dublin too. We know that from our viewpoint as U16 mentors, we have to be at our best against Dublin.

"The future of camogie is looking good for both counties."
