There will be a large crowd in Newbridge tonight. They should see a cracking contest. There's a big prize at stake. Leinster final day, Croke Park on July 16. Both teams will go till the bitter end, no matter what way the wind is blowing.

During the campaign, the two counties have shown True Grit. The determination to get up off the floor when the roof is caving in.

Dublin are managed by Tom Gray. He commended the team's industry as they beat Longford the last day in Parnell Park.

The Blues won comfortably. They had sprinted clear well before the end, yet they still kept at it.

The opening round against Meath in Donnycarney was a different cup of coffee. Dublin trailed by seven points at half time.

They began to play far better in the second period. They forced extra-time. And they won by two points in the end.

Kildare boss, Gay Campbell, also saw his side display character as they too recovered from seven points down to overcome Laois in Newbridge.

Their opening round win came away to Carlow. They won handsomely on that occasion.

The two teams will have benefited hugely from those stern tests against Meath and Laois. And they are sure to now bring much intensity to St Conleth's Park.

Ciarán Archer's scoring contribution was crucial for Dublin against the Royals - the St Maur's lad has been held in reserve tonight with David Lacey starting in the corner. And the Dubs have scores in the boots of Ross McGarry and James Doran.

David Kelly is the Kildare captain. He's competent on the frees, while Daniel Reilly, Niall O'Connor, Darragh Ryan and Darragh Kirwan have also been impressing.

DUBLIN (MFC v Kildare): D O'Hanlon; D Maher, P O Cofaigh Byrne, L Flatman; K Kennedy, N Matthews; E O'Dea; M Tracey, D Ryan; D Brennan, J Doran, D Conlon; R McGarry, S Hawkshaw, D Lacey.
