UCD will do Dave proud in Synger battle

TEMPLEOGUE SYNGE STREET v UCD

(O'TOOLE PARK, TODAY, 4.0)

UCD will do Davy Billings proud. No doubt about that.

Templeogue had a decent campaign last time out.

They beat Mary's on the Kiltipper all-weather, and then they got past Na Fianna by a point.

That was a result that got people talking. Making the last eight was a noble achievement for Dave Cullen's Super Hoops.

St Vincent's ended the adventure. They'll miss the O'Gara brothers, Eoghan and Killian.

UCD always make for formidable Championship opponents.

VERDICT: Templeogue Synge Street

BALLINTEER ST JOHN'S v CUALA

(O'TOOLE PARK, TODAY, 5.30)

BALLINTEER are thriving in Division 2. Four wins from five.

They beat O'Toole's in the opening round the last time. They lost to Boden at the second fence.

Cuala have been adjusting to life on the stock exchange floor. Intermediate championss and moving into Division 1 were milestones on Hyde Road.

Last season, Cuala lost to Na Fianna in the first round. This will be an interesting one.

This is one Southside derby that's sure to sparkle.

VERDICT: Ballinteer St John's
