Tyrone to motor way past Derry

DR McKENNA CUP (SF) FINAL

TYRONE v DERRY

(Morgan Ath Grds, Tonight 7.30, live TG4)

MICKEY HARTE'S men have built up an impressive head of steam this month, reflected in their power-packed second half display against Fermanagh. With Martin Penrose and Stephen O'Neill now starting up front after being sprung to good effect last weekend, they look the more likely winners against a Derry side that eked out a narrow win over Down, aided by some masterful finishing from Conleith Gilligan.

ODDS: Tyrone 4/6, Draw 15/2, Derry 13/8

VERDICT: Tyrone

McGRATH CUP (SF) FINAL

TIPPERARY v CORK

(Clonmel, Tomorrow 2.0)

CORK are one of those few teams that can play without two-thirds of their recognised starters and still romp home, as they did by 16 points against Cork IT last Sunday. Conor Counihan has made another six changes here for a final that should be a whole lot closer, considering how the currently red-hot Barry Grogan inspired Tipp to an emphatic eight-point win over UCC.

ODDS: Tipperary 7/2, Draw 9/1, Cork 1/4

VERDICT: Cork

O'BYRNE SHIELD (SF) FINAL

WEXFORD v LAOIS

(Wexford Park, Tomorrow 2.30)

A HARD call here, since we can't be sure which Laois will turn up -- the misfiring 15 who squandered a multitude of chances during a dire first half against DIT last Sunday, or the transformed outfit that hit 11 second half points.

ODDS: Wexford 10/11, Draw 7/1, Laois 11/10

VERDICT: Laois

WALSH CUP (SH) QUARTER-FINALS

UCD v GALWAY

(Belfield, Tomorrow 2.0)

ODDS: UCD 16/5, Draw 12/1, Galway 1/5

VERDICT: Galway

KILKENNY v NUIG

(Freshford, Tomorrow 2.0)

ODDS: Kilkenny 8/13, Draw 9/1, NUIG 11/8

VERDICT: Kilkenny
