Tyrone investigation refutes sledging claims
THE Tyrone county board has refuted claims "in the strongest possible terms" that one of its minor players taunted a Donegal opponent over the death of his father during last Sunday's Ulster MFC clash.
In a statement released yesterday evening, the board revealed that due to "persistent allegations" of verbal abuse circulating in the media. It had conducted an investigation involving management and players.
The statement said: "As a result of the investigation, it would refute in the strongest possible terms that a comment was made by any of its players to a Donegal player regarding the death of his father in 2014."
