St Vincent's hope to end on high after final woe

St Vincent's will look to end the year on a high when they come face-to-face with Kilmacud Crokes in their Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 Final at O'Toole Park tomorrow afternoon.

Having lost the Dublin SFC title early last month, Vinnies have shown commendable resolve to book their final berth with last week's ten point win over Na Fianna reflecting their potent abilities.

Tomás Quinn was once again their shining light in attack as he amassed 1-7 over the hour and the Marino club will look for a similarly influential performance this weekend.

Blitzed

Shane Carthy added two goals for a St Vincent's team that blitzed their opponents in the first-half before the likes of Michael Concarr and Nathan Mullins stalled any hopes of a Na Fianna comeback with some solid defensive performances.

The versatile Joe Feeney was another player to impress that day, as he did with lively cameos during the championship, and the Armagh native could well prove a trump card for Tommy Conroy's men.

For Feeney & Co to flourish may require a below par display from Crokes, who still harbour genuine frustrations and regret from their SFC exit to eventual winners Ballyboden St Enda's in the second round.

Highlight

That Kilmacud finished the season in top spot highlights the talent as manager Gabriel Bannigan's disposal with stalwarts Mark Vaughan and Brian Kavanagh landing the pivotal goals in last week's semi-final win over St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh.

The Under 21 'A' FC final between the same clubs this afternoon may influence team selection with Vinnies looking less inconvenienced in that regard and that could be enough to swing the tie in their favour.

Verdict: St Vincent's
