Setanta too strong for 13-man 'Nells

Setanta made a successful Dublin SHC 'A' debut when comprehensively accounting for Parnell's by 3-18 to 3-5 in their Group 4 opener in Clonshaugh last night.

The Coolock outfit were undermined by two dismissals, one in either half, with Setanta taking full advantage as they enjoyed an 11-point interval lead.

Lee Richardson excelled at corner-back for the winners as Setanta took control of the game when Dónal Breathnach pounced for their first goal.

With Dara de Búrca and Ryan Swift dominating at midfield, the Poppintree side continued to impress and they stretched their lead through the dead-ball prowess of Seán Ó Riain.

Parnell's improved after the break but their fate was sealed by the concession of goals to both Lúcás Ó Ceallaigh and Jason O'Callaghan with Fiontan Magibb to the fore throughout for Setanta.
